: TEVERSAL 0 - 2 WORKSOP TOWN : Teversal's latest pre-season game saw
the Tevie Boys lose 2-0 at home to Worksop Town. Teversal were unlucky to
go in 1-0 down at half-time, after Worksop scored from the penalty spot
just before the break. Former Tevie Boy Dave Cockerill added the second
ten minutes from time.Report from www.worksoptownfc.co.uk - Worksop gained their second pre-season victory in three games this afternoon. Goals by Kevin Sanasy and David Cockerill saw them to a 2-0 win at Teversal this afternoon. The breakthrough came when the Tigers were awarded a penalty after a quiet opening by both sides. Paul Stansfield made a run into the area, but was fetched down in a double challenge by Sam Holmes and Jack Townroe in the 43rd minute, with neither player objecting as the referee pointed to the spot. Last season's leading scorer Kevin Sanasy coolly slotted the ball past keeper Dan Herring into the right hand corner to give Worksop a 1-0 interval lead. Goal number two arrived in the 80th minute when Ryan Jennings crossed to substitute Andy White whose effort struck the crossbar before Cockerill sealed it for Worksop after knocking the rebound home at the far post. |

: TEVERSAL 1 - 5 ARNOLD TOWN : Teversal lost out in the semi-final of
the Snipes Tournament, going down 5-1 to a strong Arnold Town side which
featured at least five first-teamers.Teversal fielded a very young side all of whom, apart from one, were aged nineteen or under. Teversal's goal came from the penalty spot in the second half scored by Jamie Hudson. Report from NEP Online - Arnold Town smashed five goals past Teversal in the semi-finals of the Sutton Town tournament. They took the lead through Mark O'Dea after only four minutes and increased their lead just before the half hour mark when Craig Mitchell took advantage of good work by Antwon Bonnick to side-foot into the net. Seven minutes later Bonnick brushed off a challenge by Jamie Mawdsley and lashed the ball into the net from an acute angle to give Arnold a 3-0 cushion. Teversal managed to pull a goal back four minutes before the break through a Jamie Hudson penalty. But Arnold restored their three-goal advantage in the 59th minute through Joe Loscalzo. Mitchell made it five with three minutes remaining. |

12.07.08 : TEVERSAL
0 - 6 MANSFIELD TOWN XI : The Stags started their pre-season schedule in style with a 6-0 romp away at Northern Counties East League outfit Teversal. A youthful Stags side dominated proceedings from start to finish, with noteworthy performances from winger Jamie McGhee, make-shift defender Tom Naylor and hat-trick hero Grant Ryan.Stags broke the deadlock after just 15 minutes. A low corner from Jamie McGhee found trialist Tyron Amory, who fired home from short range to put the visitors ahead. Youth striker Grant Ryan, 17, bagged his first of three on 20 minutes, heading home from a McGhee right-wing cross. The home defence was found wanting again with half an hour played. Ryan raced clear of the defence to shoot low and hard past the home keeper, who was in for a miserable afternoon. McGhee turned from provider to goal scorer just 10 minutes after half time. Tom Naylor split the home defence with a fine ball, and McGhee finished with aplomb to add to Stags' tally. Grant Ryan bagged his third shortly after the hour. He twisted and turned inside the area to fire past Martin Dewberry in the home goal for the second period. With five minutes remaining, substitute Lewis Croucher completed the rout. Stags' chief tormenter Jamie McGhee was the architect once again - the nippy winger crossed from the right to set up Croucher for the sixth. Official attendance - 201. : FA COMPETITIONS - SEASON 2008/09 : Details of the entries accepted, exemptions and the early round draws for The FA Cup, Trophy, Vase and Youth Cup competitions will be released on TheFA.com on 1 July 2008 .Once again there is going to be a record number of clubs in the coming season's FA Cup competition. There were 731 accepted entries last season and now the figure has gone up to a phenomenal 762. The first competition back in 1871-72 had just 15 and those pioneering clubs were: Barnes, Civil Service, Clapham Rovers, Crystal Palace, Donnington School, Hampstead Heathens, Harrow Chequers, Hitchin, Maidenhead, Marlow, Queen's Park (Glasgow), Reigate Priory, Royal Engineers, Upton Park and Wanderers. In those far-off days, the attraction of taking part in a national knockout competition boosted the membership of The FA and spread its influence over a wider area. Within ten years of the first FA Cup the number of member clubs had increased from the original 12 to a healthy 128. The number of Cup entries reached 100 for the first time in 1883, 200 in 1895, 300 in 1906, 400 in 1909 and 500 in 1920. Only ten years ago the figure was 558, more than 200 fewer than the present total. (Source : www.TheFA.com) |

15.05.08
: UPDATE ON SPONSORSHIP DEAL : The Northern Counties East Football League has released the following statement concerning its sponsorship with KoolSport.Following the announcement of the League sponsorship deal with KoolSport, it quickly became apparent that some members clubs had their own current kit agreements with other parties and that the implementation of the KoolSport deal for season 2008/09 would present those clubs with difficulties. This, in addition with the entry of six new clubs for season 2008/09 which cannot be ratified until the Annual General Meeting on June 21st, means that the timescale for kit production would also have been very short. As a result of this situation, the Northern Counties East League, after negotiation with KoolSport, have agreed that actual kit supply will begin for season 2009/10 with the next twelve months being used as a period for preparation and establishing the KoolSport brand in the UK commercially. The League wish to thank KoolSport for their continued support and a meeting will be arranged for all member clubs to attend to discuss the logistics of this sponsorship in early July along with League administration for season 2008/09 and the excellent range of kit and ancillary products from KoolSport that will be made available along with the very competitive pricing structure for additional items clubs may need. Bridlington Town have made the move down from the UniBond League where they will be replaced by Premier Division runners-up, Glapwell. Three clubs will be coming in from the Central Midlands League, champions Askern Welfare as well as Appleby Frodingham and Grimsby Borough. And, Brighouse Town and Hemsworth Miners Welfare will be joining us from the West Riding County Amateur League. Two teams will be leaving us - Division One sides Borrowash Victoria and Gedling Town - to join the new Step 6 East Midlands Counties League. The proposed make-up of both divisions is yet to be ratified by the League's Management Board. And, the NCEL would like to wish all our teams, including those who are leaving us, all the very best in the future. : LEAGUE ANNOUNCES SPONSORSHIP DEAL : An announcement on the NCEL
website states..."The Northern Counties East Football League are delighted to announced that they have secured a two year sponsorship deal with KoolSport. As part of the deal, KoolSport will supply football kits for use in all games beginning next season 2008/09. The League will be renamed KoolSport Northern Counties East League. KoolSport are a company based in Thailand with many years experience in kit manufacturing, exporting to many countries. They now want to expand into the UK market and see the Northern Counties East League and its member clubs as an effective method of gaining exposure for the KoolSport brand. Each member club will receive a home and away kit of their choice fully printed with club badge, club sponsor, numbers and logo of KoolSport and the NCE League. In releasing this exciting news, it is hoped to give all member clubs notice of this in order that they can plan their policy to kit supply which has normally been on a localised basis. It is the intention of the Northern Counties East League Management Board to call all clubs to a meeting shortly to announce the logistics of this sponsorship. At that meeting, clubs' requirements in terms of colours and styles of kits required will be ascertained, along with their obligations in this very generous deal from KoolSport and to formally launch this sponsorship with national coverage when all the logistics are in place."
